Drain Rod
Our first port of call for unblocking drains is the drainage rod. This is a semi-flexible metal rod that is inserted into the problem pipe, and is designed to ‘puncture’ a blockage, so that water flows past, carrying the blockage with it. This is unsuitable for clearing blockages that are some distance from the inspection hatch, as the rod has only a limited range.
